AI Rundown Daily is built on trust. We are a small, remote team of six friends who started this publication to bring clear, independent analysis of artificial intelligence to the people who build with it. We handle your data with the same directness we bring to our reporting — no surprises, no fine print games.
1. Who We Are
AI Rundown Daily is an independent digital media publication focused on artificial intelligence, large language models, data science, and the business of technology. We were founded in 2024 by six friends — researchers, engineers, and product builders — operating as a fully remote team based across the United States. Our mission is to make frontier AI knowledge accessible and actionable for practitioners and decision-makers.
We are not a data company. We do not sell advertising networks. We do not broker your personal information. Our business model is reader-supported through newsletter subscriptions and direct sponsorships with clearly disclosed partnerships.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only what we need to operate the publication. Here is exactly what that means:
Information you give us directly
- Email address — when you subscribe to the newsletter or create an account. This is the only required piece of personal information we collect.
- Name — optional, if you choose to provide it when subscribing or creating a profile.
- Payment information — if you choose a paid subscription tier. Payment data is handled entirely by our payment processor (Stripe) and never touches our servers.
Information collected automatically
- Analytics data — anonymized and aggregated page views, referral sources, and session duration. We do not use fingerprinting or cross-site tracking.
- Email engagement — whether you opened a newsletter or clicked a link. This helps us understand what topics matter to our readers.
- Technical metadata — browser type, operating system, and general geographic region (country-level only) for security and performance monitoring.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect phone numbers.
- We do not track you across other websites.
- We do not collect biometric or sensitive personal data.
- We do not use third-party advertising trackers or retargeting pixels.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for these specific purposes:
- Delivering the newsletter — sending you the daily briefing and any special reports you signed up for.
- Managing your account — authentication, subscription status, and preferences.
- Improving coverage — using aggregate analytics to understand which topics and formats are most useful to our readers.
- Security — detecting and preventing fraudulent or abusive use of the platform.
- Legal compliance — meeting obligations under applicable laws, including responding to lawful requests.
We will never use your email address to send you unsolicited marketing from third parties. We will never sell your contact information to advertisers.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, our legal bases for processing personal data are:
- Consent — for sending the newsletter. You can withdraw this at any time by unsubscribing.
- Contract performance — for managing your account and delivering paid subscription services.
- Legitimate interests — for security monitoring and anonymized analytics, where our interests do not override your rights.
5. Data Sharing
We share your data only in these limited circumstances:
- Email service provider — to deliver the newsletter. Our provider receives only your email address and engagement data.
- Payment processor (Stripe) — for paid subscriptions. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.
- Infrastructure providers — cloud hosting and database services, bound by strict data processing agreements.
- Legal requirements — if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
We do not share your information with any other third parties. Period.
6. Data Retention
We retain your email address and account data for as long as you are subscribed or have an active account. If you unsubscribe or delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain certain records for legal or financial compliance purposes (e.g., transaction records for up to 7 years).
Anonymized, aggregate analytics data — which cannot be linked back to you — may be retained indefinitely for editorial planning purposes.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you have the following rights over your personal data:
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Deletion — request that we delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent — opt out of the newsletter at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@airundowndaily.com. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Cookies
We use only the cookies necessary to operate the site:
- Authentication cookies — to keep you logged in to your account.
- Preference cookies — to remember your dark/light mode preference.
- Analytics cookies — anonymized session cookies to understand traffic patterns. No cross-site tracking.
We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or social media cookies.
9. Security
We take the security of your data seriously. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS) for all data in transit, and our infrastructure partners maintain SOC 2 compliance. Access to personal data within our team is limited to those who need it to operate the publication.
No system is 100% secure. If you discover a security issue, please report it responsibly to security@airundowndaily.com.
10. Children's Privacy
AI Rundown Daily is intended for professional adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it immediately.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our practices evolve. Material changes will be announced via the newsletter at least 14 days before they take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most current version. Continued use of the publication after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
